Viana do Castelo

Wegbeschreibung

In Richtung Porto fahren, und von dort aus sind es noch 55km Autobahnfahrt bis zur Abfahrt "Viana do Castelo".

Spotbedingungen

Sehr guter und beständiger Nordwind im Sommer, d.h. bis Anfang September. Danach ist es meistens vorbei. An normalen Tagen sind Segel zwischen 4,5m² und 6,0m² üblich. Dieser Spot ist für Fortgeschrittene am besten geeignet und bietet gute Bedingungen für Freeriding oder Welle, ist aber mit Guincho nicht zu vergleichen.

Das Wasser im Atlantik ist nicht gerade warm, besonders bei Hack. Im Sommer kann es schonmal 18ºC erreichen, aber meistens solltet ihr einen vernünftigen Semi dabeihaben.

Viana do Castelo is a town. Cabedelo is the spot where u can find some good conditions for Windsurfing. There is thermic that makes ( in this spot ) a good combination for windsurfing and kite.
Use Windguru to check Viana do Castelo and then add more 1 or 2 Bft in it to know the wind in Cabedelo.

There is no shop/rental suport neither to much touristic support. In the south of Portugal u have better support.

Anyway, strong winds can be find, waves reaching 2mts, and always nice people.

could you please show the exact place of the spot?
Here are two pics. Is this the right position?
If it is, isn´t there a strong current because of the Rio Lima?
